“I am very pleased that the Orchestra’s much-loved founder, Hilary Davan Wetton, is returning during this season, not only because it will be great to have him back on the podium to conduct some of the repertoire he has been most closely associated with, but also because I believe that a sense of continuity and connection with all the Orchestra’s past achievements is an essential part of the continuing fabric of musical life in Milton Keynes. Hilary, as the founder and original Principal Conductor of Milton Keynes City Orchestra continues to play an important part in the development of the Orchestra and I am also very delighted that Milton Keynes City Orchestra has a chance to pay homage to Haydn in 2009, the bicentenary of his death.” Sian Edwards
