"Haydn's Drum Roll is an amazingly strong and original work - an appropriate upbeat to next year's Haydn bicentenary. And if you require evidence of how much Beethoven learnt from the Haydn, particularly in terms of energy and ebullience, this is it! The great man's Triple Concerto demonstrates a confident relaxed charm."
