Simon Dinnegan

Simon Dinnigan - Click for larger photoSimon Dinnigan's outstanding reputation as one of the finest guitarists of his generation is supported by his critically acclaimed solo recording for the esteemed Classic FM label, The Full Works.  Simon has already had a remarkable year. He performed his way through every County in England on a mammoth 44 date tour. During July 2002 a special one hour film of Simon's performances was broadcast on  the Artsworld digital channel. July also brought one of the highlights of his career, an invitation to perform at a private Jubilee party at Windsor Castle in the presence of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

In 1982, Simon won a scholarship to Chetham's School of Music in Manchester under the tuition of Gordon Crosskey.  Simon went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he won the Principal's Guitar Prize. While still at the Guildhall, Simon was spotted by Jose Tomas, Spain's most respected Professor of Guitar and was subsequently invited to study with the Maestro in Alicante. Senor Tomas  subsequently said: "Simon is the finest pupil I have ever had the good fortune to encounter".

Simon has enjoyed a string of competition successes and he currently holds the position of Principal Guitar tutor at Birmingham's Conservatoire of Music.  During two decades of public performance, Simon has appeared live at prestigious venues across Europe, the USA, Central and South America and South East Asia.

Simon's critically acclaimed album debut has recently been re-released and a new album is in the making.  He is also composing a Guitar concerto with the Jazz Guitarist Martin Taylor.
