Hilary Davan Wetton
As well as being Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of Milton Keynes City Orchestra, Hilary Davan Wetton also directs the Guilford Choral Society and City of London Choir and is Director of Music at Tonbridge School. His former posts include Director of Music at St Paul's Girls' School, a position once held by Gustav Holst, and Director of Milton Keynes Music Service.
He has been awarded the Ricordi Conducting Prize and his recording of Holst's Choral Symphony with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra won the Diapason d'Or, whilst that of the Planets with the London Philharmonic Orchestra was recommended in the Penguin CD Guide.
Hilary has also conducted Travelling Opera, Ballet du Nord, the Ulster Orchestra and youth orchestras in Birmingham, Buckinghamshire, Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore. He was conductor of the National Children's Orchestra for the year 2000.
Hilary was educated at Brasenose College Oxford, where he studied with Sir Adrian Boult. He also holds honorary degrees with De Monfort University and The Open University.
