Black History Month Project

Funding from the Local Network Fund has enabled a partnership between Milton Keynes City Orchestra, the Moorlands Family Centre and First School and black artist/storyteller Yaw Asiyama. Milton Keynes City Orchestra musician, Rachel Edmonds (bassoon), is also working on this project using music to accompany black tales and involving children and families in writing new tales with musical accompaniment to celebrate Black History. This project will take place over seven days in September - November 2007 and will end in a sharing of work for friends and families.

For an insight of how the project work and interviews with Yaw, Rachel and Jackie Allen, Education and Outreach Officer, click here. We are extremely grateful to AskMK Productions for their work on this film.
