MKCO String Quintet perform at Festival in the City

Milton Keynes City Orchestra (MKCO) String Quintet treated spectators to a fantastic performance on Saturday 13th June, as they took to the stage at MK College ‘Festival in the City’ in Middleton Hall.

With Leader of MKCO, Diana Cummings on the violin, the quintet played renditions of Beethoven’s Quintet in F Major, Dvorak’s Two Waltzes and Bottesini’s Grand Quintet in C.

Also playing as part of the quintet, the audience saw Rosie Wainwright on violin, Donald McVay on the viola, Alexandra Mackenzie on the cello and Leon Bosch on the double bass.

Having attended the performance on Saturday, MKCO Chairman, Marian Livingstone said: “Performing at the MK College Festival was a super opportunity to engage with a younger audience and endorse our successful partnership with College staff and students.”

MKCO’s next big performance will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary Concert on Tuesday 30th June with a brilliant performance of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2 from world class pianist Stanislav Khristenko and the orchestra’s very own Music Director, Damian Iorio.
